                 The Sinking of the Titanic

Summary

This book is about a young boy named George who went to England with his sister Phoebe to see their Aunt Daisy. They stayed with their aunt in england for a week and then they were going back to New York. On the way back to new york they decided to take the grande trip back on the Titanic. They stayed in a first class room which felt like a small house to them. The Titanic was everything that George, Phoebe, and Aunt Daisy could have ever imagined. The next day George was walking around the Titanic when he stopped and started watching these boys play marbles when he realized he wasnt alone. He looked over at his side and standing next to him was a little boy. He said hi and the little boy looked at him and said "See". He held out a postcard of the Statue of Liberty, he was holding it like he built it himself. George felt like he had to show him something, so he pulled out is bowie knife his pap gave him.  "Enzo" the little boy said, George assumed he wanted to know his name to. "George" he said. "Girogio" the little boy cried. There was a man right behind him reading and italian to english book, he assumend that was Enzo'z father. He learned a lot about them that day and they became good friends. There was a night on the ship that George, Phoebe, and Aunt Daisy were all sitting around eating dinner when a man came up to them. It was a man named Mr. Andrews, the creator of The Titanic. Mr Andrews took Phoebe and George up to his living space and showed them the blueprints to the Titanic. They where astounding to George. As George got more curious he asked if there were any secret passage ways through the Titanic. Mr. Andrews pointed to a spot on his blueprints that showed a latter that led from the 3rd class rooms up to the main deck. He couldve sat there all day and listen to Mr. Andrews talk about the Titanic but his aunt made him go to sleep. The next morning while they were at breakfast annother man walked up to him. This time Aunt Daisy knew him, It was Mr. Stead. Mr. Stead then started talking to Aunt Daisy about how in the first class baggage room there was a crate labeled to Mr. Burrows. This man was in egypt and was apparently bringing to New York and egyptian princess. When George heard this he got very curious and than came up with a plan, to go see the princess. It was late in the night when George got up and very quietly snuck out of their cabin and onto the deck. He walked down the hall until he came to a room that said "Baggage Room". George opened the door and walked very carefully down these rusted metal steps. As he set his foot on the ground he started scowering everywhere for the crate that had Mr. Burrow's name on it. George then realized that the crates where in Alphabetical order.  He walked over to where all the B crates where set and there it was, it stood out like a light in a dark room. The crate said on it:  Mr David Burrows  New York City  Contents Fragile. George smiled to himslef, and started prying the lid open with his knife. Then he heard a loud noise. He stood still, his heart pounding. And out of no where someone had pushed him to the ground and taken his knife. The man had blue eyes and a sacr on his face. As the man was talking to george with his deep voice the ship starting shaking. The man fell to the ground but george used this as an advantage. He stood up, grabbed his knife and ran out of there as fast as he could, until he finnaly got to the upper deck. There were men who were looking at the deck below. There was snow covering the whole entire deck and men were throwing snowballs up at them. George went back to his cabin and into his room. not long after he got in his bed someone knocked on the door. It was one of the stewards on the ship. He told them that they had to report to the main deck for safety percausions. As they were getting ready Aunt Daisy was getting Phoebe when she wasnt there. Panic now filled up there cabin. They walked out onto the deck off of there cabin when they saw a lemondrop path. They knew that if they followed that path they would find phoebe. As they followed the path it led down to the 3rd class floor, and there was a huge crowd trying to get upstairs but the guard wouldnt let them. Aunt daisy had to get threw and demanded she would get threw, and she did. When they got threw they could no longer see the lemon drop, but they did see Marco and Enzo, and george had a plan. He told Enzo to scream Phoebe as loud as possible, so he did. And there was phoebe, but now they needed a way out of there, and they knew they werent getting out threw the front entrance. So they all started looking around when george saw a room, the room was filling up wait water, sea water. The Titanic was sinking. Under the sense they were all going to die, george remembered the escape ladders. he walked over to a door and went inside and there was the ladder. 1 by 1 they went up the ladder and were up at the top of the deck. People were scurrying all around trying to get on a life boat. They all got on a life boat, but Marco wasnt aloud on because of a men rule that no men were aloud on lifeboats. Then it was Georges turn, as he was climbing on te man pulled him off and said no more room, and he was now stuck there alone on a sinking boat. While he was in this shock he fainted, but when he woke up, someone was holding him. It was Marco, he then put george on his feet and told him they had to jump. So they did. they jumped into the icy cool water and held onto debree that was floating in the water. Marco tied a rope around him and pulled him, and pulled him, and pulled him until marco couldnt pull anymore. When marco stopped pulling he looked as if he passed out, so now it was Georges turn, but as he was pulling he saw a boat in the distance, and swam towards it as fast as he could. And there he was, face to face with a life boat, Full of men. He pulled himslef onto the boat and someone else helped him pull Marco onto the boat too. They were on the boat all night when the dun was rising and a Big boat almost as big as the titanic came and in the distance he saw people on the reailings screaming and waving. He saw his Aunt, his sister, and Enzo. They Were gonna be saved. After that George went back to his house in New York, with his aunt and sister safe, but he had nigtmares about that night, and he lost all his fun, from that one night.
